Restaurants

Coffee & Breakfast

Pekara Vrmac - Lovely, grab-and-go bakery. Get here early, and be prepared to order quickly! The bakery serves up delicious pastries, but the staff and everyone behind you in line is in no mood to wait for you to figure out what you want. We went here almost everyday of our month long stay and I eventually won over the staff by accidentally calling my husband a dog via the language barrier/ translation error… worth it.

  • What to Order: Apple Turnover, or cinnamon twist (just point and say “apple”).

🛳️ Mon Bistro Cafétéria - Excellent coffee, great food, and the nicest staff. Sit outside and enjoy plenty of fans with water misters. A true paradise for the super hot summer mornings in Kotor Bay

Lunch & Dinner

Marenda Steak House - If you're craving the best steak in town, this is it. This place was amazing. The food and service were both phenomenal. We ordered a mixed plate of meat and french fries and were asked to switch to a larger table because what came out of the kitchen was a massive tray of food. To top it all off, the dessert was amazing too. All for a very reasonable price (and definitely a better deal than what you can find in old town). However, if you’re coming off the cruise ship, this spot will take a bit of a walk/ taxi to get to.

🛳️ Pizzeria Pronto - Order a slice or a whole pie at the window to go. The pizza here is amazing. Don't get sucked into the other tourist traps with a larger set-up and better view.

Pizzeria & Grill Halal "Bucko" - We grabbed a quick lunch to go here more than I’d like to admit. This place is outside of the Old Town, so it might be just out of reach if you’re stopping in from a cruise ship, but that means it’s not quite as crowded.

  • What to Order: Gyros!

🛳️ Konoba Roma

Tasty pasta place in old town. The atmosphere was lovely. We were seated right away and were serenaded by street performer, violinist in the square during dinner. I was served the most generous glass of wine yet.

Steak House - Grill, Fish & Meat - Just outside the city walls with a beautiful patio overlooking the water and the city lit up at night makes for a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and plentiful and a not so bad price too!

🛳️ Pier65 Restaurant - We got lucky and sat outside and enjoyed a live concert at the end of the alley; it was like sitting back-stage. The food, service and atmosphere were all good, and the prices very reasonable, except for the casserole which was slightly overpriced. Stop in for lunch or dinner!

🛳️ Pepe Nero - This place was REALLY good! Tucked away in the Old Town, the place has a decent sized outdoor patio with cherubs highlighted above on a balcony, watching in envy as you enjoy a very tasty meal. Even the salad was amazing. Dress a bit on the fancier side for dinner.

La Catedrale Pasta Bar - Oof this place was good! I tried to make a reservation, but was told to just show up and have a drink while waiting for a table, so that's what we did! The small tables along the wall represent the line for the restaurant; order a drink, it's worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and very busy. Order some of their wine (they have their own label) and don't miss the prosciutto bruschetta (you can entertain yourselves while you wait by trying to say that one 5x fast).

Restoran Mademoiselle - You’re going to need a taxi for this one. Dinner with a fantastic view, on the water, while being serenaded by a saxophone player!? Done. This place had a beautiful view of the mountains at sunset, right on the water. Perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. The food and the service were fantastic and the prices were reasonable. Make a reservation to get your spot.

🛳️ Restaurant Galion - In second place for most expensive meal, but delicious nonetheless. We had a wonderful quiet dinner right on the water at sunset. The food was top notch, but pricey.

Beautiful grounds of Stari Mlini Restaurant

This is your fancy meal. The most expensive meal we encountered in Kotor Bay, but my goodness the place was stunning. Go a little before sunset and make sure to walk around the winding stone paths to take in all of the beautiful scenery and of course take pictures. The food was pretty good, but really, you're paying for the view. This was also the first time we didn't sweat through dinner

Gelato!

Marshall's Gelato мороженое - We got into a not-so-healthy habit of stopping here after dinner every night. I'm not mad about it. It's SO. GOOD. I recommend the chocolate, if you're going for two scoops, then my husband recommends the banana and chocolate.

Moritz Eis - Is it ice cream? Is it gelato? Not sure, but I do know it was delicious and we're going back! They even gave our dog a mini spoon for being such a good boy.
